Full Day trip to Malacca

You`ll travel approximately two hours south of Kuala Lumpur on a day trip to Malacca, the oldest trading port in Malaysia. You will then visit St. Peter’s Church (1710) – the oldest Christian Church still in use in Malaysia. Drive past the largest 17th century Chinese cemetery outside of China, located at Bukit China or Chinese Hill. Stop at the foothill to view the Sultan’s Well before driving through the Portuguese Settlement. Proceed to view the famous gateway. ‘Port De Santiago’ and the ruins of St. Paul’s Church lined by 17th century Dutch tombstones. Next on the list is “Red Square” – the salmon pink Dutch administrative buildings which today house the Malacca Museum and government offices. Visit Christchurch before proceeding for lunch, we visit the ‘Abode Merciful Clouds’ or the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple – the only temple where you can find 3 major doctrines of local Chinese belief under the same roof, viz : Taoim, Buddhism and Confucianism. Take a stroll along Malacca’s Jonker Street, which ends by the banks of the Malacca river.
A relaxing, scenic 2.5-hour drive south of Kuala Lumpur takes you to Malacca, the oldest trading port in Malaysia which had undergone Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Visit Stadhuys or the Dutch Square and take a walk up St. Paul`s Hill for a panoramic view of the Malacca Straits and the old town of Bandar Hilir. At the top are the ruins of St. Paul`s Church, lined by 17th century Dutch tombstones. Stop for a typical `Nyonya` lunch before taking a stroll through the Antiques Row at Jonker Street. ( nyanya food are not a vegetable food – so indian will have problem with this ) Next, visit the famous Portuguese Fort de Santiago and Cheng Hoon Teng, the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. If time permits, you`ll also get to take a photo stop at Morten Village, a typical Malay village on the way back.

Enjoy the panoramic tour of Langkawi from SkyCab. From the Base Station is conveniently located on foothill of the Machincang mountain. From here, visitors will be taken up to the cool Machincang mountain via the cablecar system. The ride will be an exhilarating experience for everyone to enjoy. The Cable Car system is the latest tourist attraction for Langkawi and is located at the Oriental Village, a theme shopping centre housed in 30’s individually designed buildings showcasing Malaysian and Oriental architecture. Langkawi Cable Car is located just north of Telaga Harbour, Pantai Kok, with the entrance within `ORIENTAL VILLAGE` - a theme shopping centre housing in 30 individually designed buildings showcasing Malaysian and Oriental architecture. It is located just north of the Langkawi International Airport, on the north-western coast of the main island of Langkawi. It is just an approximate 40 minutes drive from Kuah town and 15 minutes drive from Langkawi International Airport. ATTRACTIONS Base Station The Base Station is located at the Oriental Village (at the foot hill of the Machincang mountain range). From the base, visitors will be taken up to the Machincang range via the Langkawi Cable Car on gondolas giving the visitors views of the surroundings forests, the Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) waterfall as well as the sea. The cable cars are closed weekly for maintenance. Middle Station Cable Car Middle Station An intermediate Cable Car station on the eastern ridges provides access to the eastern cliffs with its 3 vertical chimneys and the 360-degree views. The journey from the Base Station to Middle Station will cover 1,700 meters in length and upon reaching the Middle Station at an elevation of 650m above sea level, visitors will be able to alight and walk up to the viewing platforms. Top Station Cable Car Top Station A short walk up the stairs from the Top Station will take visitors to the two viewing platforms at the top of Gunung Machinchang. A cafe at the Top Station offers refreshments and views with cool breezes, at 708m above sea-level is about 5 degrees Celsius (+/-) cooler than lowlands.
